MASTER GARDENER TRAINING PROGRAM SCHEDULED NORWICH, N.Y. - Cornell Cooperative Extension of Chenango County is looking for gardening enthusiasts interested in sharing their knowledge and skills with others. The Master Gardener Program is a nationwide educational program and an integral component of the countys outreach program. It provides education to home gardeners, nursing home residents, youth in after-school programs, community gardeners and consumers of horticultural products about landscaping, vegetables, fruits and herbs, houseplants, insects, plant diseases, soils, birds, composting, wildlife management, water conservation and much more. The required 45-hour training course will begin on January 27th. Classes will be held at the Cooperative Extension facility in Oriskany on Mondays from 3:306:30 pm and extend through early May. Transportation by van and car pool from Chenango County will be available.
