Since professional baseball returned to the Twin Tiers after a 23-year absence, the Binghamton Mets have succeeded in enriching the lifestyle of area residents with affordable, family entertainment. Young and old people alike have responded by supporting their hometown team in force.
NYSEG Stadium, a state-of-the-art facility, opened up in 1992. It serves as the home of the B-Mets which represent the New York Mets at the Double-A level in the Eastern League of professional baseball. The team hosts 71 home games from April to September in the 6,000-seat downtown stadium. NYSEG Stadium offers fans all of the amenities of a major league venue with the warmness and charm of a smaller city.
B-Mets games feature an outstanding caliber of baseball. Almost 100 former Binghamton Mets have made their way to the major leagues and countless other opponents have made a stop in the Southern Tier in the visitors dugout.
Its not just the game that draws fans from all over New York and Pennsylvania to downtown Binghamton. The B-Mets promotional schedule is chocked full of entertainment and special offers.
Every Tuesday is Two for Tuesday when fans can purchase two Pepsi fountain sodas or two Labatt draft beers for the price of one. Wednesdays are Friends & Family 4-Pack nights when any group of four fans get four tickets, four hot dogs, four sodas and a souvenir program for only $20.
With a special coupon, fans can purchase two tickets for the price of one. Fireworks follow every Friday night home game (except July 5th). Saturday night games begin at 6 oclock.
Kids & seniors make out on Sunday afternoon ballgames. Youngsters, 14 & under, can join Buddys Knot-Hole Gang and receive free admission on Sundays. Seniors have a special $3 admission prices on Sundays only.
Giveaway items like beach towels, caps and shirts are given away free on special dates. Acts like the Blues Brothers & Zooperstars enhance your trip to the ballpark.
