On the Eastern hills of Norwich NY, along the East River Road, According to Alteren LLC they plan to construct a "master-planned community of the future" - A retreat, hotel, homes, and adult housing complex which will include golf courses, an equestrian center, and 4 season outdoor activity center. There will be a 100 seat chapel, a 300 seat amphitheater, a spa, and several dining facilities. This grand project will bring new life to Norwich and Chenango County. According to Alteren:
"At the heart of this development is the Alteren Resort & Conference Center. Designed in the tradition of Frank Lloyd Wright’s prairie school, the resort features a 145 room full-service hotel with 12,000 square feet of meeting space, a full-service 10,000 square foot spa and salon with 10 treatment rooms, and Deacon's, a full-service 120-seat restaurant showcasing regional agricultural, dairy and libations from the bounty of the Empire State. The hotel also encompasses a café and juice bar, 24 integral condominium units, The Residences at Alteren, 20 free-standing vacation club fractional-ownership units, a 300-seat outdoor amphitheater and a 100-seat non-denominational chapel."
"Surrounding the hotel proper will lay 142 residential home sites composed of 94 of 1-acre, 41 of 3-acre and 1 10-acre lot. To accommodate seniors who may wish to live in the Alteren community without the responsibility for large property maintenance; Alteren, LLC is planning to develop 40 one-story Country Villa’s of 1,400 to 1,500 square feet."

As a nationally ranked equestrian competitor, Lorri has more than two decades of equestrian design experience with projects in over 20 states. The Alteren Equestrian Academy is planned to include 2 indoor riding arenas; the main arena of 100 x 250 feet and a second warm up arena of 80 x 200 feet that combined represent 41,000 square feet of indoor space for year-round equestrian functions. The equestrian center will include 40 stables and offices for facilities management and personnel. Outdoor facilities will include six paddocks and over 100 acres of fenced fields for enjoyment, training and events."
"The Alteren Equestrian Academy is developing a family destination that will provide a world-class complex for the equine show and event industry. A planned second phase will include an additional 30,000 square foot indoor riding arena and stables for an additional 100 horses. "The Alteren Equestrian Academy has an integral residential housing component comprised of 12 5-acres parcels to be developed as mini-estates. "The resort’s 18-hole championship golf course is being designed by renowned golf course architect Graham Cooke. The development as planned will be complimented by 71 residential home sites comprised of 42 of 1-acre, 21of 3-acre and 8 of 10-acres. The golf course club house will feature a 10,000 square foot Arts and Craft’s inspired structure anchored by The New York Sports Pub. In addition, the club house will house a pro shop and locker facilities."
In addition, The Lodge at Alteren will be a 400 acre Facility about a mile away from the main complex encompassing a convention and meeting center, as well as outdoor trail and shooting ranges.
